Q.Why are the leaves yellow on my roses?

Zone Northern Calif. | deedollens added on July 9, 2014 | Answered

My white roses are potted. I have many blooms but the leaves are turning brown on the edges. Is this a sign of over watering or not enough water? Perhaps it-s the large plastic pots I have them planted in.

The leaves turning brown at the edges is usually a sign of the weather being very hot. The rosebush just cannot get enough water out to the edges of the leaves to prevent them from burning. This can also show up on the blooms petal edges, as they will look burned and crispy as well. Keep them well watered but not soggy wet and they should be fine once the weather cools a bit.
