Would like to know what they are called. I was told Grandfather radish. Size of a hardball. Is that proper name? Where can i get them for me to grow? Nobody seems to know, but I see them certain times of the season. I love them--just like eating an apple with some spark to them.
Unfortunately, there are very many varieties that will have this growth type. I would not be able to tell you an exact variety. Most of the giant radishes will match this description. I would check somewhere with heirloom seeds to find something that isn't quite common, if you suspect it to be an older variety.
Hi, Can you identify from the attached photo what I'm seeing erupting beside my radish green parts, are these the radishes or something else? What is that little waterdrop-that I see? Sorry to be so dunce, I am a complete novice and I started an herb and vegetable container garden in my tiny courtyard. The radishes I planted from seed are a White Icicle-Rábano. I have looked all over google and youtube and can't find an answer. I don't know if I should be happy or terrified of these little eruptions. Thank you for your assistance
Those are mushrooms! They will not, usually, harm the plants, as they only consume decaying, and dead matter. It is unclear what type that they are, as they are still very young, so please have caution around pets or children.
You may remove them, or you can leave them. They do serve a beneficial function to the soil, and I usually leave them to do so. Otherwise, everything looks healthy, and looks like they are happy where they are.

Why do my radishes grow double bulbs?
Radishes like cool weather, but it needs to be warm and wet enough for them to fill out before the weather really heats up. Changes in temps are the likely cause.
My radishes are very small. The tops are large and healthy, almost to seed. Radish is small and very hot to taste. Soil is sandy topsoil with mixed in peat. Water is applied every day if requied. The garden is in direct sun for about 3/4 of the day. Fertilizer, liquid Miraclegrow 7 to 10 days.
There can be a few reasons for this and this article will help you access the care.

This even happens when planted in potting soil.
This, usually, indicates a lack of phosphorus in the soil. It could also indicate that there is too much nitrogen, which is common with most potting soils.
This can be offset by adding more phosphorus, and potassium, as long as the soil pH is not neutral or alkaline already.

This problem has happened to me several times at different locations in our garden Ususally we have an abundance of radishes. This time I grew them in the greenhouse which has a heater, and the soil of which I had used a granual organic fertiliser and had watered the area well. The variety that I grew was French Breakfast
This is most often caused by too much nitrogen in the soil. Soil for root plants, such as these, will need quite a bit more phosphorus, and much less nitrogen.

Im a very new gardener, I have some (2) Russian Black Radish growing in a tub, they have shot up relly quite tall probably 18 inces, is this how they should be or do i need to do someting?
They are probably going to flower and seed. This is caused by heat and longer days. The only way to offset this is to plant earlier in the year so that you can get a harvest before bolting, unfortunately.
Here is an article to help you to prevent this from happening in the future:
