How can I stimulate the ponytail Palm to re grow a root system it's only got a few still attached that werent disturbed during repotting process. I love this plant I had it for 2 years
You will just have to have it in the correct environment and hope that it has enough roots to remain alive long enough to create more. Unfortunately, this is a death sentence in most cases.

I remodeled my house and the workers watered my plants for me while I took a vacation. My indoor ponytail palm was over watered and all the leaves dropped off. The root smells musty and it's loose. What can I do to save it? Thanks. I've had it for a couple of years.
You can repot it in fresh potting mix and don't water for a few weeks. Keep an eye on the "loose" root, I guess you mean the bulb. Hopefully it will dry out and regrow leaves.

Last night a storm broke it in half can the top of it be saved
It's not clear if the top of your plant can be saved, but it's worth a try to get it into some soil to see if it will root. The bottom half should survive, however, and the break may generate some new growth.

The plant was repotted to a much larger pot and over watered and fertilised. Can it be revived?
You will have to flush out the extra nutrients. Make sure that your container has plenty of drainage holes, and does not hold water. If this is the case, then flushing cannot happen, since water cannot leave the container.

Could it be I watered it too much?
Your plant may have palm leaf scales. Your watering didn't cause it. They are succulents and soil needs to dry out between waterings.
Here is an article that tells how to treat them.
As long as they are true off-shoots, and not part of the opper portion of the plant, they will transplant quite easily. They don't propagate well from tip cutting. You will know the difference because of the rooting nodes you might see at the very base. They appear as little points.

A couple of years ago, I fell on my beautiful ponytail and thought i had damaged it so bad it would not survive, but then it grew again and now it has four more heads on it. How can I remove the extra heads without damaging it any further? cheers. shirl heald
