Hi there, We have removed the large and overgrown bushes in front of our house in coastal NC and are looking to use smaller plants (greenery and flowers) that will last in the sun throughout summer and will be able to grow back after the winter. We also want them to look attractive and bloom throughout the year. What would you recommend? Thank you!
I would encourage you to visit local garden centers and greenhouse, just walking through to explore plants, shrubs and flowers will help you start your landscape project.
You also can gain some inspiration from your neighbors landscaping, take a drive and make notes on what appeals to you.

I have decided to plant what was a fountain (now filled with good quality topsoil) but not sure what with. I like the idea of a centre feature of a japanese maple but what should I plant around that? Any ideas would be much appreciated. I do not want to have to spend a great deal of time weeding etc so would like ease of maintenance also.

I take care of gardens at a Boat club. So I have conditions of Full sun 8+ hours, windy conditions, helping to dry gardens out quickly, cant be there to water every night. Would like help finding hardy flowering plants both perennial & annuals to plant. Growth height between ground cover to no more than 12inches. Colorful, blooms spring to fall frost in Zone 6 (Buffalo NY). I'm not having the best of luck making the gardens look good. They do when I first plant, but conditions make it hard to keep up.
I first suggest visiting our local garden centers and greenhouses. They often have test gardens for you to look at and make plant decisions.

Hi there, I am trying to find suitable flowers to have in our alley way leading up to our building site. We will be purchasing some troughs but I am struggling to find flowers that require little/no sunlight. please could you advise what flowers would be most suitable? We would prefer it not to be climbing flowers or any that are of a height above 30cm. Any help will be very appreciated. Thank you, Rachel
