We have had the Passion flower for four years and never had any problems. This year as usual we have an abundance of buds, only a few flowers and all the other buds are turning yellow and withering. What have we done wrong

My specific question is the vines are being chewed through. Causing the entire vine system to die. All the vines have been chewed through. It is not the leaf being eaten by the caterpillar, it is the actual vines.
Not likely to be from a insect pest. What about rodents. Or mechanical damage from a weedeater, or a kid hacking with a sharp tool?
I have three vines for about five years. They have bloomed only once. I have them in pots and take them on the deck in summer and bring them in in front of the patio door in winter. I live in PA. I trim regularly. What can I do to make them bloom? Thank you.

I just noticed that my passion fruit has small little green bumps all along the stem.
I can't determine what the bumps are from just your description. It could be a normal appearance or something more serious, such as Scale pests or disease.
Can you send us some images of the 'bumps'?
I have a potted passion fruit vine. The bottom leaves are browning and dying. The top leaves are green. Up until now the plant has been well watered by filling up the bottom dish. Sometimes this is drained fairly quickly in which case it is filled up again. If not it is left with out water until the following day. However sometimes there is still some water left in the dish in which case I leave it. The pot is on the corner of a balcony and gets full sunlight at some time in the day. There is a blind that is continually down. This is not for the benefit of the plant but more to do with privacy. Unfortunately I have been away for 3 weeks and on my return I though the plant would not have survived. The attached photo is the state it is in now. Any hints as to how I should get it back to it's former glory? I live in the canary isles. The climate is a dry heat up to mid eighties in the summer and currently mid to high 70s.
You can pull off any dead or dying growth, and continue on as usual. It will likely recover on its own. I wouldn't leave so much water in there for very long, but if it seems to be ok with this, then that is up to you.
