Unless you know what specific species you have, don't eat it. The fruit of the most common species of red passion flower is not edible, but there are hundreds of species and some of them are edible. This article has information on which species are edible:

There are many species of passion vine (Passiflora), so it may just be that the species you have produces smaller fruit. Don't eat it unless you know what species of passionfruit it is, because there are some species that are inedible and may be poisonous, especially when unripe. There are many edible species as well, so if you can reliably identify it (ask a local plant expert), it might be edible even if the fruits look different from the supermarket variety.

It is fairly easy to start them from either seed or cutting. I do prefer taking cuttings, though. Here is an article that will help: https://www.gardeningknowhow.com/ornamental/vines/passion-flower/propagating-passion-flower.htm

Could you include a link to exactly where you found it? I wouldn't be able to tell you without seeing it. You can check, either local nurseries or online nurseries. Many will ship to just about anywhere.

You can spray them with neem oil. Just wait until the sun is not bright and full, such as early morning or late afternoon. This will keep it from burning them.
