Q.Passion Fruit Vine (I think)
I have a potted passion fruit vine. The bottom leaves are browning and dying. The top leaves are green. Up until now the plant has been well watered by filling up the bottom dish. Sometimes this is drained fairly quickly in which case it is filled up again. If not it is left with out water until the following day. However sometimes there is still some water left in the dish in which case I leave it. The pot is on the corner of a balcony and gets full sunlight at some time in the day. There is a blind that is continually down. This is not for the benefit of the plant but more to do with privacy.
Unfortunately I have been away for 3 weeks and on my return I though the plant would not have survived. The attached photo is the state it is in now.
Any hints as to how I should get it back to it’s former glory?
I live in the canary isles. The climate is a dry heat up to mid eighties in the summer and currently mid to high 70s.
You can pull off any dead or dying growth, and continue on as usual. It will likely recover on its own. I wouldn't leave so much water in there for very long, but if it seems to be ok with this, then that is up to you.
