New parsley seedlings have shriveled and broken off at soil level. Wondering if soil is too rich, I've tried three new plants at different times in the same pot with the same result.
Parsley can be troublesome to start from seed. It take quite a while to germinate and is fussy.
Use a light soilless mix for seed starting. Mist the seeds and soil, this doesn't disturb the seeds as much.

I have tried to grow parsley from seed many times. Put them on top of ground and wet them, covered them. Tried planting them about a 1/2 inch down and wetting them. But nothing. How do I grow parsley? Wayne.
Parsley is a slow-germinating seed, and its seedlings can take 3 to 4 weeks to appear. To germinate parsley, the seeds need to be kept continually moist and warm for this entire period. Starting indoors is more reliable, so start with that method. Carefully follow the instructions in this article:

It is also possible that the seeds you purchased are poor quality, so purchase some new seeds from a different supplier.
When parsley flowers, do you have to plant a new one or do you just cut it back and it will come again?
If your parsley plant is bolting, it will likely have not much left in it. Probably the best idea is to pull it up and replant. For more information visit https://www.gardeningknowhow.com/edible/herbs/parsley/bolting-parsley-plants.htm

I grew parsley from seed and when big enough I planted it out in new compost. After several weeks it is turning yellow on the outside of the plant. Would it be better to plant seeds directly into the ground?
