My Norfolk island pine is getting really dry and starting to drop the tip of its branches. What can I do??
No, a heater vent will dry it out faster than anything. They need a lot of humidity, so add a pebble tray below your plant.
Some browning is normal at the bottom of the tree. If the browning is occurring higher up, check for over or underwatering, or needing more humidity. The soil should be allowed to dry out between waterings.

Isand Pine Didn't know the best essential oils in a diffuser around the Norfolk Island pine to help keep it moist green and beautiful
I couldn't find any research that said that essential oils could help maintain a plant's beauty. I would stick with water in a humidifier or mister.
Two yrs ago had to have them removed ( both were at least 30m tall) as causing damage to house. Left area barren for 2 yrs, now turfed over area with lawn growing beautifully. Now this white stuff is coming up out of the lawn in places it looks like foam and keeps pushing up getting thicker and thicker, and after a while the sun seems to turn it brown, if you hit it with the edger it smells like mushrooms. It does not seem to worry the grass at this time as it continues grow.( the substance seems to be getting progressively harder. Just wondering if it is sap from the remaining tree roots which a well under the dirt or a fungus that has come with the turf.Photos attached
It looks like slime mold, and the host may be remnants of the trees that were removed. It doesn't hurt anything and control is not advised. Here is more info:

Lower branches are dead and dry, mid plant there are browning spots mixed with green, and it's droopy all over. There also is a white fuzz like covering most of the plant that looks like spider web. Ive taken pics to show you i hope they are enough. This has noy had enough light I know, possibly underwatered and was left out in the cold overnight when it went to 30 degrees outside. I took the plant from my boyfriend to try and rescue it. I want to make sure there isn't any fungal issue or anything in addition to the neglect it has suffered. I am putting it under a grow lamp now and will do whatever i need to save this.
it looks like mealybugs, which are a type of scale. Here is what to do:

What should I do with this plant? It’s in shock
Water the pine tree with some water that has a product called Super Thrive in the water. Do this the nest 4 times it needs watering. The super thrive goes a long way to curing shock and stresses issues.
on position. limits to Temp and sun / shade please
You can put it outside in the summer months, but it does not like cold weather at all. These two links will explain what this plant's requirements are, and that should help you determine how to care for it:

This plant is at least 25 years old and more than six feet tall. It seems to love the place it occupies. It is just getting old or is there something I can do? It is losing some lower branches, but appears to have new growth.
It may be a harmless, natural process, or the tree could have a serious issue. These two articles should help:
