I have a cutting of lavender and it's been in water for two or three weeks and it's been growing roots and stems, seemed to be thriving...the other day I gave it a new container of water differently shaped so the smaller roots had room to grow in new directions. The bottle originally held lemonade but had been washed several times. The next day the roots were all stringy and partly brown. I immediately put it back in the original container with yet more new water but nothing has improved. Is the cutting dead? Do I cut off these roots and try to start again?
I suggest planting it in well draining potting soil. The longer a plant is rooted in water, the longer it will take to adjust to soil life.
Can't you just answer the questions without an image?
Typically, it is best to prune them right as the new growth is starting to come in. Here is an article that will help:

I repotted the Spanish lavender in a slightly larger pot. How should prune as it looks extremely wilted
I'm attaching links to two different articles that should give you all the info you need to do this.

Is it possible to take clippings from a lavender plant and start a new plant. I never can get it to root
Yes, it is possible. Try enclosing the potted clipping in clear plastic. Here is more:

me I saw on the label that it says not to consume. Could you tell me ifI am able to eat it because I am finding this very confusin g and it means that either the net is giving info which could end in people being poisoned or it is just confusion.
It is strange that it would not give a reason why. I suspect that it has been treated with systemic pesticides, which are taken up into the plant. You will have to consult the nursery from which the plant came to ask them why they would have such a label on an edible plant.

Also, please do not include your personal information to the public. I will remove it this time.
Found these circular brown spots on lavender leaves in pic Any ideas what is causing this? Upon inspecting plant I only spotted a spittle bug with its foam. I don’t know if the spittle bug is responsible for these leaf brown dotted spots or something else Any ideas
Unfortunately, your photos did not come through. I am unable to diagnose the issue. I can say that it does sound a bit like a bacterial infection. This can, often, be corrected using fungicides.
