Can certain Jasmine plants survive in Illinois, if winter care is taken?
Your zone is 5b.
Hardy Jasmine is hardy down to zone 6, so you would not be able to winter over outdoors.
You can however bring the plant indoors for the winter.

Hello, I purchased a healthy jasmine flower plant a week ago. The plants had sever flowers blooming & new buds on the way. My flowers are dying mass. I still have it in the original pot and will replant this weekend. I have watered to keep it moist and given good sun. With this info, can you give me insight into why the flowers are dying? Thank you, Deneen

I planted my Jasmine last month. It gets about 5 hours of sun a day. It looks like it's in good shape. The blooms started appearing last week and they are plentiful. But now, they seem to be dropping off at an alarming rate. Very upsetting. And no scent from them yet. What am I doing wrong?
If your plant was blooming or budded as you planted it, it may be dropping the flowers in stress.
The plant needs to become established, with proper planting and watering.

I brought 2 jasmine plants from a nearby farm. i put them in the same pot. one of them was not upright and was shaking from the wind, so i put a wooden stick support and tied it with a cotton yarn. i've had them for almost a month now. i dealt with a couple of white spiders and some caterpillars. now i am having a problems again: 1- the stem of the one that put support for, is turning scaly white. 2- some leaves are being eaten but i find no spiders or caterpillars. 3- the edges and tips of some leaves are turning brown/burnt. 4- flowers are blooming and stays like that for few days then either slight browns and falls or just falls. i added some pictures of the stem and some parts BTW i'm in Alexandria, Egypt humidity is 60%~70% temperature is 33C (91F), my house is right in front of the shore so i get some strong wind. i leave the plant from dawn till noon in direct sun light when sun is too hot i move it into the garage

I'm transplanting some jasmine ground cover and the root system is about 8" to 12" thick in most areas and then tapers down to just an inch on the edges where it's running. Can I cut through the root system horizontally leaving just an inch or two of the roots everywhere without killing it?
Take cuttings from the established jasmine. Take the cuttings as close to the ground as possible.
Dip the cut ends in rooting hormone. Rooting hormone will encourage faster root growth.
Place the cuttings with rooting hormone in water. After several weeks, the roots should have grown to around an inch long.
Transplant jasmine to small pots after rooting. Use a sterile potting soil at first and make sure the soil is moist, but not too wet. Peat pots (2- or 3-inch diameter) are ideal because you can later plant them directly in the ground.
After a few weeks, the root structures should be strong enough to transplant into your garden.
