For the past week each morning we have had small holes where something has been digging. We have lots of mole crickets (sandgropers) - could it be from those? We also have occasional Ibis in our neighbourhood. Is it possible that they would do this during the night?
Ibis do poke holes in the yard with their long beaks foraging for insects. They actually aerate the yard as well as remove insects so they are beneficial. Here are other foragers:

A friend has used a substance called “Bumper” which you dilute with water and spray on the foliage to prevent the butterfly laying its eggs. I went online to see where I could buy it and nothing comes up on google
Likely, the worse culprit will be a moth larvae called the cabbage looper! This will be easily controlled, though. Here is an article that will Help:
HAVING A PROBLEM FINDING A RETAILER THAT SELLS Nomesa Locustae...where can I buy it?
We do not recommend specific sources. You could try Amazon, Etsy, or Ebay. Other than that, you will have the best luck talking to the gardening centers near you.
I have recently been encountering a BUNCH of moths inside and out of my house and I have never had this problem before. I have a few plants but they all seem to be doing good. Could the moths be coming because of the plants? Will they harm the plants?
They lay their eggs on plants. Their larvae (caterpillars) eat plants, however. They are, potentially, harmful for your green friends. You may want to repel them.

Suggested miles but holes are tiny and everywhere.
Many things can cause holes of that size. The culprit could be birds, insects, earthworms, spiders, or any number of other pests. Unless you can see signs of what is causing it, or dig up a patch to find out what is under the soil, it will be very hard to say.
