Why does the cherry guava fruit go from green to dark brown. It is hard and, of course, inedible. How can we fix this?
The cherry guava has a narrow window in which it is ripe enough to eat but not over-ripe. This happens when it is turning from green to red but is not completely red yet.
If your fruit never turns red but goes straight to brown, there may be another problem going on. It could be that they don't have quite enough sun or heat to finish ripening. This article might help:

Our guava tree produced a lot of fruit this year; however, some of them have brown spots on the skin, which spoils the inside of the fruit. In addition to my question, what is the best way to ripen the guavas, as they fall on the ground when they are not ripe. We do have squirrels, possums and raccoons if we leave fruit on the trees they will eat all of them?
The brown spots on the guava could be anthracnose. Here is an article that will help you:

If you leave unripe guava at room temperature for a few days they should ripen.
Squirrels, raccoons and opossums relish guava so there is a distinct possibility they will be eaten.
I have a guava tree growing in a greenhouse in Colorado. It was planted as a small (about 15" tall) plant last spring. It has grown well; however, through the winter months the leaves have turned a dark black color and there appears to be brown spores on the leaves. Can you suggest any solutions for this plant? We had a month or so of some very cold nights with the greenhouse dropping to about 43 degrees F. Any advice for growing a tropical plant indoors would be very much appreciated. Thanks, Laura
Guava do not survive freezing temperatures though they can do ok with a brief dip in temperatures, an extended time in the cold may kill off the tree. If the roots survive, the tree can grow back but it may take some time.
The black leaves are likely due to the cold exposure.

It's possible the spores you are referencing are a disease.

I have two Guava plants whose leaves start turning brown at its tips and gradually fall off. I have sprayed it with Malathion, feed 6 6 6 fertilizer and have seen no improvement. However, there is new growth on the plant.
Make sure that you are not over watering.
These plants are quite tolerant of a drier soil mix.
Fertilizing can be done every 3 months.

I have a guava tree and all my fruit has worms in them. How can I avoid this and the solution should be organic no chemicals as I have bees in my garden
You may need to make a positive id on the culprit to decide on the best course of treatment.
Sticky traps and Neem Oil or both safe and organic methods of pest control.
