Gerbera Daisy are hardy in zones 8-11. You will need to bring your plants indoors as soon as the temperatures drop below 45 degrees F.

Yes birds use all sorts of plant materials for nest making. They also are attracted to the scent and sweetness of certain flowers for food. Like deer and rabbits, birds will eat different things if food or water is scarce. Maybe distract them from the gerberas by hanging feeders, providing bird baths and leaving a little plant debris around. This article may also help

It is hard to say. They are two different varieties and may have slightly different traits when it comes to reblooming. Kind of like why one person can draw well but another cannot. Some are just born with the talent while others are not.

You can help to encourage the yellow one to rebloom by removing any spent blossoms. The fewer possible seed heads left on the plant, the more likely the plant is to try to make more, which makes more pretty flowers for us.

Yes, go ahead and repot your plant into a slightly larger pot size. If it is in a 6 inch pot, purchase an 8" pot.

Use a good quality commercial potting mix.

You may be over-fertilizing which causes lots of leaf growth at the expense of flowers. Flower buds are fragile things so make sure the plant is getting all the water it needs but not too much. Soil should be damp, not wet.

It can depend on the size of the plant. Though it sounds like a lot of flowers, it is not a record. I bet it's lovely!
