it’s just a couple tiny sprigs ...but they do have roots. I put them in a pot on my back porch. She will get sun pretty much all day long. But she sure looks awfully droopy and I don’t know if it’s just because it’s a shock that I’ve moved her Premier home which is at the Home Depot. I’m just not sure what to do. I’ve never had one before so help help help!
Gardenias need part shade so yours are probably baking. Here are a couple articles that will help, but I encourage you to search our website as the plant grows. There is a lot of helpful information there (https://www.gardeningknowhow.com)

What is a gardenia?
Are Gardenias supposed to flower all through the season, or just sporadically (e.g., every 4-6 weeks). Same question for Lantana. Thanks !
As far as Gardenias go- Some are everblooming and some are not. Lantana will bloom year round, as well. Pruning can rejuvenate after blooming.

My gardenias are very old - probably 12 - 15 years old. I'm not sure how to describe it but there is so much tall leggy brown wood with very little new growth until you reach the ends. It blooms like crazy but it's ugly from where the new growth begins to the ground. Is there any method to trim it so there is more new grown closer to the ground? One was too close to my house so I cut the back side of it and that part never grew back so I'm afraid to cut the other ones I have. Sorry this is so long and so poorly described. Any help would be appreciated.
When you cut a branch, it will never grow back. It will be replaced with another in another location, however.
Hard pruning can be done to restore an old Gardenia, but fertilization may be required, as well.

Live in Utah cold winter. How do I make the correct soil mixture? I have a large container to plant it in but I have read it needs to have acidic soil and I have no idea how to produce this.
Your local nursery should have soil that's specially formulated for gardenias, or you can order it online. You can also periodically add some sphagnum peat to the existing soil to increase acidity.

The plant is blooming now. - it is quite large and heavy to move.
Glad it is doing so well! Yes, your gardenia can grow indoors, year round. I would not move it while it is doing well and blooming.

Hi, A couple of years ago I bought 3 gardenia plants online from a well-known seller. Despite following the planting advice two have died off and the 3rd, Gardenia "Pinwheel", has grown but is looking sickly. It is planted in ericaceous soil and has had frequent doses of "Miracle Gro" and Sequestered Iron. Could you advise on how best to resurrect it please? Thank you, Kind Regards, Mark Haythorne
It is, more than likely, a combination of using that particular fertilizer and overwatering. I notice that there is a little bit of water in that pan under the pot. Any amount of standing water means that the soil is too saturated.
The soil needs to be allowed to dry out thoroughly down to about 2 or 3 inches between getting wet again.
