I'm trying to get rid of weeds like crabgrass, dandelions, etc... out of my lawn, so used scotts halt crabgrass down, but I'm still seeing weeds. I would like to reseed, which i think will eliminate some of the weeds... but I'm afraid the seeds may not germinate. Please give suggestions.
You are not alone in the frustration of a lawn full of weeds.
We have some great articles that will help you make herbicide choices and how to improve your lawns health.
I would also encourage you to check with your County Extension if you are unsure of the weed types. They can help you with identifying weeds in your region and how best to treat.
I will also list a link to help you locate your nearest office.

I recently retired from the UK to Czech republic. Brought a home with a large garden mainly to lawn and fruit trees. the lawn is I believe mainly self seeded and covered in dandelions. If i use a weed killer recommended for getting rid of the invader is there a danger I will also kill the patient? what type of product would be best and when Regards Chris

Hello Gardening Know How folk's, I'm trying to establish a weedy yard for my baby tort. I need to grow them at my new house where it's mostly dirt with no grass. We're going to lay down some in a small area. What's the best way to make sure I get dandelions growing, especially with flowers? Can they be started in a pot? You mentioned harvesting, but I'm not sure how to go about this. Please let me know what the quickest way would be to get started. Thanks.

Dandelions are good for the Bee's too!
Can you eat the leaves of dandelions?
When they are small and probably the spring leaves are less bitter. Just make sure they are dandelions as there are a couple look-alikes when small.
I have clay soil and am seeing this weed pop up all over my lawn. Can you please identify it so I can know what to do to get rid of it. Thanks
This is the common Dandelion.

I want to grow purslane, lambs quarters and dandelion greens--none of which are in my garden currently. I am assuming that I will need seeds and then I want to know when I can plant these.
The best time to plant these would be in very early spring. Just be mindful that these can become invasive in your area. The best way to combat this would be to plant in container.
