I buy dandelion greens at the local market. Can I use the bottom of the plant, the roots, and replant it and get another plant or do I have to start with actual seeds in order to grow dandelion greens? Thanks for your answer.
It may be possible to plant the root you have, but starting from seed would be the easiest method.

As a newcomer to my allotment plot, I have been painstakingly digging out all weeds and grass in an attempt to minimize further problems. However, the chap in charge has told me that apart from dandelions, I could just be digging all of these things in. I can understand that it would possibly help the soil but after reading several gardening things, it seems that this could chop them up and make the problem worse in the future. Advice would be greatly appreciated please, as I don't want him to think I'm mental if I decide to carry on digging them out with a fork. Thank you
Weeding is perfectly okay so long as it done properly and correctly. The following article will give you guidelines on how to properly weed:

I have a yard full of dandelions that I sprayed a year ago and then used fall weed and feed on last fall. Will there ever be a time when I can harvest dandelions from my yard, or have they been contaminated beyond ever being able to eat them regardless of how many years pass?
You should not harvest Dandelions that have been treated with chemicals.

Over grown garden full of weeds. I have no idea how these weeds started in my garden. Last spring I had surgery (gallbladder) but did not do much gardening - and I am paying for it big time this year! I have one particular garden where what looks like dandelions have taken over. I pulled them all out in the spring, got half of the garden mulched - then my dad got sick. I did knothole time to get back to it and now they have invaded! What can I do? I pull and they come back twice as much. I hope you can help! I live in Canada - near Niagara Falls. They also seem to be 'jumping over to nearby gardens. Please help!
I mentioned that i did pull them all out this spring - root and all - but this has made the problem worse. They have come back - three times as many. I was hoping for a better answer. Now they have spread throughout the whole garden.
Pulling weeds after watering can make removal of the entire week and roots easier.
Removing weeds before they can seed themselves will also help reduce their presence in the garden.

Do you have a local garden club? Try contacting them and see if they provide any garden help for gardeners who need some assistance.
I am interested in growing dandelions. I live in an apartment. How much light do they require? How often should I water them? Where do I find information on how to properly harvest this gorgeous plant and how do I keep it super-duper happy? Many thanks!

I live in zone 8b in Louisiana and I can't understand why there are no dandelions growing anywhere around here. I live in a rural area with a big field behind the house, nothing! Not even in town! I would like to plant some, but don't know if they will make it.
What plants are growing in your field? How tall are the plants? Do you have a photo of the field? Have you ever had a soil test done there?
