I planted a Crimson Gold in a container last spring. The leaves are a pretty green but no color. I brought it in for the winter and plan on taking it back out when it gets warmer. Do you think that would help with the color?
Lack of sunlight and over fertilizing can lead to loss of color variation.
Your plant should return to it's color patter of burgundy edged in gold when it returns to it's outdoor location. The variety can tolerate full sun in a cooler climate.

do coleus plants have any order
Oh! Did you mean "odor?" Coleus plants do have a smell that's similar to camphor and thought to be very pleasant.
Sorry, but I'm not entirely sure what you mean by this. You might be able to find the answer to your question in this article about coleus:

I want to add some color to a shady area in my yard, however, I do have deer in the area. Are most coleous a good plant?
Coleus does not make the 'deer resistant' list.
If Deer are hungry, they will eat anything, whether it's deer resistant or not.

I purchase some coleus seeds which have developed into young plants, but all of them are plain light green. The leaf shape is similar to an oak tree leaf with a fern type of appearance. Will the leaves turn colourful as the plants mature? Or were the very fine seeds something else ?. I purchased 2 packets of seed with picture showing multi coloured coleus leaves .
It is likely you have a Coleus Mix and green is one of the colors.

leaves are turning brownish.....just planted it in a pot about a week ago and now doesn't look as good
Make sure that the soil is well draining. Too wet or too dry of soil can result in browning and dying leaves.
Make sure the container soil is moist; you may need to water twice a day in temperatures above 85 degrees.
Make sure you have the container in shade or dappled sunshine. Some morning sun with afternoon shade also can work for most Coleus.

I have noticed that bugs are eating my plant leaves what can I use to deter the bugs but not kill my plants.
Neem Oil is a good organic pest treatment. It will work on most sucking insects and is safe for people, pets and bees.

I just bought coleus, how do I keep them full? Right now they are very tall and leggy. Should I pinch them back periodically? Also, will they be okay in sun?
Pinching will help keep your coleus more compact. Removing blooms as they develop will also help maintain a healthy long lasting plant. Plants want to ensure survival of the species and developing seeds meets this objective. By removing the flowers the plant continues to develop as it hasn't met it's goal. I like the pretty blue flowers so I usually keep a few on the plant. The sun question depends a little on where you live. Usually we see coleus in area where there receive morning or late afternoon sun, but on the coast they may tolerate full sun. You may find red leafed varieties more tolerant of sun that green leafed varieties.
