Hello. Last year i had a clematis branch dying ..thought it was water but no..one by one just leaves drop down..and dies..no fungus visible..I tried searching underground but nothing ...why it is so ? I have talked with many who also have the same problem..our clematis is a hybrid one...thanks you for your responses I really appreciate. thank you again ..
Although there is no appearance of a fungus, it is likely the cause of this. This can usually be corrected using wettable sulfur and dolomitic lime. Proper pruning will also help. This article will help: https://www.gardeningknowhow.com/ornamental/vines/clematis/pruning-clematis-vines.htm
The bottom leaves of my clematis are turning yellow and have powdery substance on it. How can I save it?

These are 2 newly planted plants this spring and both seem to be affected with the wilt!
If these are newly planted vines and they are wilted; it may be either too little or too much water or moisture.
Check the soil to make sure it is well draining, if the root are sitting in poorly draining soil they can suffer root rot.
