Q.clematis one branch dying

Hello. Last year i had a clematis branch dying
..thought it was water but no..one by one just leaves drop down..and dies..no fungus visible..I tried searching underground but nothing …why it is so ? I have talked with many who also have the same problem..our clematis is a hybrid one…thanks you for your responses

Although there is no appearance of a fungus, it is likely the cause of this. This can usually be corrected using wettable sulfur and dolomitic lime. Proper pruning will also help. This article will help: https://www.gardeningknowhow.com/ornamental/vines/clematis/pruning-clematis-vines.htm
