How can I make this tree produce the wonderful lemons and not the bitter manderins
It sounds like your tree may have been taken over by the root stock.
If the grafted tree died off, there is nothing that can be done.
If you have branches growing from below the graft line, these should be pruned off of the plant.
Inherited 10 trees of different varieties given to me without root-balls (5-6ft tall). 7 of the trees are thriving but three lost all their leaves. Should I cut back and wait till spring. I have continued to water. Also, one of the trees has two main stems, both seem to have root stock thorns on them. Any advice is helpful. I have summer pruned and fertilized all the trees. The ISD tag on them says 08/11/11

I'm not sure of your growing zone, you may want to check with your County Extension Office to see if the varieties you are growing our proper for your zone.

We have two mature citrus trees in our yard, however we have no idea how to, or when, or when fertilize.
These two articles provide great advice on citrus fertilization:

What kind of citrus tree do I have? I thought it was some sort of orange tree, but someone told me it is a kafir lime tree.
There are actually a few citrus varieties with this distinctive double leaf shape. Kaffir lime is the best known of them in the US, but the Yuzu Lime and Nansho Sour Orange (Citrus taiwanica) can also have double leaves (but not all do), and there are possibly other citrus with double leaves. Perhaps one of these is what you have.

Hello, A couple of years ago I bought some citrus trees. In particular a lemon (Meyer), orange (Valencia), and a mandarin (Honey Murcott). The trees need to be re potted into larger pots. Although there are potting mixes on the market for citrus trees I would like to make my own mix. Could you please provide a recipe of a mix I could make containing all the ingredients necessary for healthy plants? Thanking you in advance. Best Regards Arthur
Citrus are not particularly picky about their soil, however, you will be able to reap the benefits of the tree sooner, and in a lot more quantity when you give it what it prefers.
