Thank you BushDoctor. Yes, I found that article useful. I only just realized that the 62 day trine frame was from the date of transplant so that will take approximately harvest date to the 25th of August which still isn't far away. Wouldn't heads be starting to form now?
We did experience a couple of early heat waves for our area. If that impacted their development will they rebound from that?
Also, since they are about a foot and a half taller than they should be is that a problem?
Do you have any idea why one plant is yellowing so much?
Have some garden space opening up and want a lot of Broccoli and Cauliflower this Winter. Got to start from seed so any advice on when to start sprouting them? I'm in Zone 23 not far from San Diego county coast.
You will be in USDA zone 10. This means that you will want to start them in September for them to grow properly and in the right time frame. Both will be treated very similarly. These articles will help: https://www.gardeningknowhow.com/edible/vegetables/broccoli/how-to-grow-broccoli.htm

I’m trying to grow broccoli from seeds and I’ve gotten all of them to sprout the first two leaves, but they just keep growing taller and falling over. I’ve tried under various types of lightbulbs including fluorescent (we don’t have a good sun window) but they never seem to start growing “true leaves”. Should I just plant them in the ground or how do I fix this? All of my other seedlings are doing great under the light inside.
Unfortunately, your photo did not come through. Also, the type of soil is not mentioned.
What I can do in the meantime, is include on article oh the proper care requirements of broccoli:

After planting out broccoli I noticed that after five days that four of the plants' leaves had many small holes in them. I removed the plants and inspected them but could find no sign of insects or any other visible signs of pests. I removed the damaged plants and replanted some extra undamaged broccoli, these appear to be good even after 1 week, however what would have been plant number five in the same row is now showing the same problem as in the first four plants, please see uploaded pictures.
Certain pests do their eating at night so you may never actually see who's munching your broccoli plants. Here's a good article that will help you deal with this:

I’m in Eastern Washington and the broccoli Was doing great and then last week the center stall shot up and flowered. There were only a few little buds on them with no broccoli heads forming. The plant was about 2 feet tall with a flower at the top. I cut them back due to not knowing what else to do. This is my first time growing broccoli so I need help.
You did the right thing, but unfortunately the weather will play against you. Heat causes this. Not even hot heat, but mild heat that gets into the 70's This is a cool weather crop, and the only way to prevent will be to take steps to reduce heat.
