My bird of paradise leaves are crinkled up and brown on the tip and edge when they open. What could be the problem?

Happy gardening!
Planted 3 red birds last year and 1 died. Replanted the 1 this year, but all the growth is off and only 2 main branches. It is now 5 feet tall, but looks spindly compared to my older plants because of fewer main branches. How can I promote more main branches? Logic tells me one of two ways: cut back late winter and new branches will sprout next year or cut back the two branches right now to spur addl growth. Help. . . . I don't want to make the wrong decision and delay this plant further. Thanks.

How can I revive my Bird of Paradise plants that I transplanted? They are not as healthy as I thought they would be.

I had to transplant a bird of paradise in June. I dug it up out of the spot it was in and moved it to a new spot. I watered it about every three days. It has good drainage, but all the leaves have turned yellow and died. I live in Scottsdale AZ. I have cut the dead stalks off hoping the bulbs will regenerate. Will they or do I need to do something else?
Every third day was likely not enough water for the newly transplanted Bird Of Paradise.
Daily water for the at least the first 2 weeks, then you could cut back.
I would increase watering and mulch to help retain moisture.

I repotted my whitebird plant and moved it into a corner, which it seems to enjoy (been in corner about 3 months); however, two new leaves unwrapped themselves in the wrong direction. What can I do to help it or leave him alone?
I don't believe the leaf opening has anything to do with the health of the plant.
Bird Of Paradise generally like to be root bound.

The stems on my bird of paradise houseplants are very long and falling over with the weight. Leaves don't look as healthy as before - breaks in the edges. The long stems will not stand upright. Some of the new leaves will not completely open. Help!
Bright sunlight is important for you Birds Of Paradise.

My neighbor planted a giant Bird of Paradise plant on the property line, which continues to penetrate through the fence and into my yard. Repeatedly over the years I have paid gardeners to cut back the plant, but it continues to be an ongoing problem. I recently spoke to my neighbor about severely cutting back or removing the plant and installing a root barrier on his side, but he said he is not willing to remove the plant and seems disinclined to do anything to curb its growth. I am installing a new fence on my property (several inches in front of his old fence) and I am concerned that the plant will damage my new fence. What can I do to prevent the neighbor's aggressive plant from invading my yard and destroying my fence? Thank you very much.
Using a cutting shovel and digging out the rhizomes is the best way to remove the plants.
If the plants are spreading you could do this regularly when the plants are dormant.
