Can I grow basil from pruning? What other herbs can grow by pruning instead of seeds?
You certainly can. This article will help: https://www.gardeningknowhow.com/edible/herbs/basil/propagating-basil.htm
Many herbs can actually be propagated this way. Here is more information on different ways of propagating herbs, along with a link to our herb page which lists individual herbs you may be interested in learning about: https://www.gardeningknowhow.com/edible/herbs/hgen/propagation-in-your-herb-garden.htm

Very healthy plants but the leaves have recently started getting light in color.
Plants age and hot summer sunshine can fade or burn the leaves.
Pinching back the Basil plants regularly will keep them healthy and growing for most of the summer.

I am growing basil in pots on our patio and it was doing extremely well. Recently, I started to notice a brown, star like shapes on the leaves. It seems to be spreading very rapidly. Any idea as to what it is and what I can do to stop it?
This could be bacterial leaf spot.

I had a brand new healthy basil plant in pot outside. Two days later each and every branch had been eaten bare. Same thing happened same day to brand new parsley plant. Today all my petunia flowers are missing! My tomatoes are stripped of fruit as well. I have seen rats lately, saw one squirrel months ago (before anything was eaten) and heard we have oppossums in area. It's not bugs, it's an animal. What or who is eating these plants to bare stem? The petunia flowers missing started after the herbs were stripped. Nobody is touching my mint.
All of the animals you mention can and will eat your plants. If a easy food source is found, they will eat it.
If your plants are in pots you can try putting them indoors in the overnight hours.
Mint has a scent that may deter many animals so the fact that they did not touch the plant is not surprising.

I bought a small potted basil to use indoors for cooking. I followed a YouTube video about how to prune it. The net result is that I cut off just about all the leaves, but nothing is re-growing. This has happened to me over and over again. 3 photos enclosed: 1.The dead roots I pulled out of the potted plant- should I have done this? 2. The basil plant I used for cooking, that doesn't seem to regrow. This happens all the time. 3. A new plant I just bought. Any suggestions on how to prune it?
Thank you!
You need to harvest and pinch the plants back to a set of the leaves.
The links below will help you with this process.
Make sure your growing your Basil plant in a good sunny location.

I want to begin with the plantation of basil in Delhi. I have basil seeds with me, but considering the upcoming cold weather in Delhi, I am worried about its plantation.
Basil needs warm temperatures and plenty of sunshine to grow well.
They are very cold sensitive plants.

Have some basil seedlings and some of them are developing leaves mottled with black/brown specs. Any ideas? Basil is being grown outdoors in New Zealand.
I believe this to be the Downy Mildew pathogen on your young seedlings.
Your young seedlings can be infected by having infected seeds.
You will need to destroy the plants.
