Q.Indoor Potted Basil- with Pictures

Ann Piece added on October 23, 2015 | Answered

I bought a small potted basil to use indoors for cooking. I followed a YouTube video about how to prune it. The net result is that I cut off just about all the leaves, but nothing is re-growing. This has happened to me over and over again.

3 photos enclosed:

1.The dead roots I pulled out of the potted plant- should I have done this?
2. The basil plant I used for cooking, that doesn’t seem to regrow. This happens all the time.
3. A new plant I just bought. Any suggestions on how to prune it?

You need to harvest and pinch the plants back to a set of the leaves.
The links below will help you with this process.

Make sure your growing your Basil plant in a good sunny location.
Make sure the soil is damp but not overly soggy.
