Q.Why Is My Black Walnut Meat Black And Shriveled After They Are Dried?
The tree is about 20 years old and produced good nut until three years ago. I collect the nuts and let them dry. When I crack them open, the meat inside is black and shrivel up. What is causing this?

One cause could be anthracnose. It can cause shriveled, black nut meats. These articles should help:
