Q.Why is ground around tree ruptured?

Zone Danville, VA 24541 | Anonymous added on September 20, 2020 | Answered

My tree is about 15 ft tall. The ground around the tree has ruptured and extends maybe 10 ft further in yard, though not as deep. What can I do about this?

There are many unanswered questions, such as what kind of tree this is, whether the roots have appeared, etc. Roots are closer to the surface than many people know. Please contact a professional arborist for a diagnosis and solution to this problem. Another idea is to contact your local agricultural extension service for help.
