Q.What Is Wrong With My Recently Divided Big Daddy.

Zone 23116 | Terry Yeatts added on June 18, 2020 | Answered

Not sure if this is from a late freeze in zone 7, not enough water, or does my plant have a fungus. What do I do about whatever is wrong with the leaves. Attaching pictures. My tools used for transplanting and dividing were brand new, so I don’t think I was spreading any disease.

It looks to be an infection from overwatering. Make sure to let the soil dry out thoroughly down to about an inch or just a little more. If there is any moisture at all down to that depth then watering will be a bad idea.

At this time, a fungicide will be in order. That paired with good watering practice, or in many cases not watering outside of what it gets from rain, will ensure a full recover. The disease is, not yet, incurable.
