What is this plant?

I found this plant growing in the middle of another plant. The plants are outdoors on the patio. Could you tell me what it is please? Thank you.

It looks like a canna lily. It really doesn't belong there because it likes a lot of water, whereas the sedum around it is more drought tolerant. Plus, it needs a lot of root room.
