Zone 95648 | Millea@45 added on August 6, 2020 | Answered

We had an arborist plant our Weeping Cherry Snow Fountain in 2018. Now all the leaves are curling on it and it doesn’t look like it’s doing good. I’ll attach a picture. Thank you

There are quite a few things that can cause these symptoms, unfortunately. Check, first, for black aphids. They can roll leaves up for nests. It seems a little widespread to be this, but this could still be the issue.

Next, you will want to ensure that the tree gets sufficient water. Watering deeply, then letting the soil dry down to about 5 or 6 inches before watering again will be ideal.

There are a handful of infections that can cause this, as well. Fungicides will treat most of them, but if symptoms do not subside, then other factors are more likely.

Proper care, systemic pest control, and preventative fungicide treatments will rule out those possibilities. Proper soil pH and nutrient content will cross out most environmental issues.
