What is this bug on my wisteria, please?
It appears to be one of the many types of wisteria borer. You can spray with neem oil, rosemary oil, mint oil, lavender oil, and garlic extract. Just mix a few drops of any or all of these together into warm water with a little coconut oil, and spray the plant down as often as you need.

I have had our Wisteria plant for about 10 years and it has bloomed once a few years back.I wondered what could be going on? The foliage looks very health. Just no flowers. Can you help me understand what is going on with it?

1. Moving house & clearing out - have found old bags of earth - J.Innes; a mulch; seed compost. etc. Do these go off with time (10 years or more) - or just get better like maturing wine? 2. I am hoping to move and replant a much-loved, v.happy, 27 yr.old wisteria. I hope to dig up as much root as I can, with from 1 foot to c.4 feet of trunk. This can go in a big bag of damp earth and await new home in a few weeks. All comment and advice gratefully appreciated. Martin.
As long as the soil hasn't gotten an infection, then it will be alright. Wet the soil down and smell it. An earthy smell and some musk is normal. Mold or bacteria will make themselves very noticeable as a smell.

When do I plant Wisteria vines? Spring or fall?
I recommend transplanting in Spring for the best results. Autumn, however, is also fine. Here is an article on the care of these vines: https://www.gardeningknowhow.com/ornamental/vines/wisteria/growing-wisteria-proper-wisteria-vine-care.htm
I'd like to know when to cut back and how far to cut.
Hello,
Thank you for sending us your gardening question. You can prune wisteria in midwinter and also in the summer, after it has finished spring flowering. Please see the attached article for detailed instructions on exactly how to prune it correctly.

Is it too late to cut back wisteria beginning December. If not how much cutting works to still get flower buds for spring I’m in south France. Flowering is normally from early March.
You can prune these in mid-winter, as well as during the summer. I would say wit another month before pruning to make sure it is still in dormancy. The second pruning will be after the blooms drop. If you grow wisteria from a cutting how long before it flowers.
It will take 3-4 years. More info here: https://www.gardeningknowhow.com/ornamental/vines/wisteria/growing-wisteria-proper-wisteria-vine-care.htm
