I changed my garden this year, a lot of grass got rototilled up, do I need to get all of the chopped up pieces out or can I leave it in for mulch?
Your title says tilling weeds and the message says grass. Left on the soil, grass roots will try to re-establish themselves. Some weeds act as though tilling were a means of propagation: each bit of root starts up a new plant. Therefore, rake up and remove what you can. Toss it into the compost pile. Watch for return of the weeds so you can pull them while still small.
This may sound silly. I used to find a product in our local garden centers that was pure corn meal gluten. I cannot remember its maker/brand. It was usually stocked near the Preen, but was touted as organic and cost a good deal less. This product has vanished from the shelves. My question is this: would corn meal or corn meal flour purchased at the grocery store work as an herbicide in the same manner?
Could you please tell me What are the brand names of the Pre and Post emergent herbicides to kill Barnyard grass. I have been to Bunnings and the staff didn't know what Barnyard grass was so couldn't help me, I have read the labels on a number of chemicals and it doesn't mention Barnyard Grass. regards Julie
For the pre-emergent application, look for products called "crabgrass preventer", since those will kill barnyard grass seeds also.

Deep rooted plants are a hassle, but there is a very easy way to kill them. Pour boiling water over the plants and into the soil. This will destroy any plant that it comes into contact with. You may have to continue and catch them before they seed, until they are completely eradicated.
How do I get weeds out off my grass?
You can either remove by hand or use a weed and feed product.
It is best to identify the weeds to make sure the product you use targets the weed specific to your yard.
