The complete listing of toxic plants as shown by the ASPCA, lists wandering jew as toxic to dogs. However, this list doesn't take into account the varying levels of toxicity possible. The list furnished by the UC Davis Veterinary School doesn't list wandering jew at all. In my opinion, the animals can munch an occasional leaf and not suffer much more than a barf, unless they happen to be allergic. Hopefully, these article will shed some light on the subject for you: https://www.gardeningknowhow.com/plant-problems/environmental/plants-poisonous-to-dogs.htm

Sina, that plant is absolutely gorgeous. Yes, you'll want to bring it in, and pinching back some will probably be helpful. You can use those trimmings to start a new pot. You'll want to gradually acclimate the plant to lower light, too. This article will give you some pointers: https://www.gardeningknowhow.com/houseplants/hpgen/acclimate-plants-indoors-winter.htm

You could spray them with glyphosate (Round-up), but apply with care; as they can kill other plants besides purple queen. The article below will tell you how to apply Round-up without causing harm to other plants nearby.

However, I would recommend having other people do the work for you: I do know that many people would love to have purple queen so perhaps you could enlist interested family, friends, co-workers, neighbors to come over and dig up a plant for themselves.

Since these are houseplants (which can spend summer outdoors), I would keep them in a sheltered location with bright, indirect light--no direct sun. Also, keep it well watered. Hanging baskets need daily watering outdoors.
