October 18, 2021Q.How To Transplant A Cutting To The Garden
We recently moved house and I could not bring two favourite roses so took cuttings. These began to grow well so I moved to slightly bigger pots and they are growing lovely. I did this in June when would be a good time to transplant them and any tips how to do it. One is a hybrid tea the other as shrub rose I think. Many thanks

Certified ExpertA.Since your transplants are young, you may want to overwinter them in the garage and plant them in the spring. If you have mild winters, you can plant them now.

January 29, 2022Q.Why Should You Avoid Replanting Large Plants That Are Actively Budding Or Blooming.
I just noticed my Peace Lilly was planted in a tiny pot and dropped into a giant pot by the florist that someone sent to my dad's funeral. It really needs reposted. But it has one of those white flower looking things on it, and your repotting large plants article says you should avoid replanting large plants that are actively budding or blooming. Why is that, what will happen if I repot it with the flower thing on it?

Certified ExpertA.Repotting when a plant is in flower can stress it out and it will likely drop the buds or flowers. Peace lilies are one of those plants that actually bloom better when slightly rootbound so repotting may not be urgent.
But in the case of peace lilies, I don't think repotting it when in flower will do it harm if you don't want to wait for the bloom to fade. Here is how:

2441Q.The Small Plastic Clear Plant Bags For Transporting
For renters. Removalists will not take plants in their trucks anymore because of dirt drop. We usually have to hire a ute to do this, thus more expense. Or in our cars anywhere we can fit our “ sweetie pies” which obviously leaves a huge mess. Where can I get the small clear plastic trnsport bags you show in your photographs? 12922Q.Saving Foundation Plants
Demolishing our current home and building new on same site. Have a few bushes & perennial flowers I’d like to move to a temporary bed in order to replant near new house in spring. Is it worth it? Any recommendations on preparing a temporary bed for them?

Certified ExpertA.That is going to be a a lot of stress to dig them up twice. There is no harm in trying, but just be aware that you may lose them. Especially if they are mature. The perennials can be moved during dormancy with no issue. Now would be the best time to transplant the shrubs if you are going to do that.

Certified ExpertA.No, the weather pattern could change at any moment. It is best to wait till all chance of frost has passed before transplanting. You indicate you are still getting freezing temps at night. Your average last frost dates are in late April. Watch for weather predictions.
