How can I save these from death?
I don't know what symptoms your plants are displaying.
Did your plants die off from winter?
Are your plants suffering from disease or pests?

Can I prune to stay around 4 feet
Yes, you can keep your plants to this height.
If they have all ready grown well beyond this height, prune no more then 1/3 of the shrub at each pruning.

How do I get rid of rose os sharon droppings all through our mulch I dont want all those rooting... And what do they mean by dead heading in spring? I am lost regarding all this but we planted them around house then mulched..now piles of little plants are there...Help Thank you Mrs.Thomas
Dead heading the flowers before they go to seed can help eliminate the plant from self seeding. Dead heading means removing the spent flowers from the plant to prevent them from spreading seeds, in this case.
Hand pulling the seedlings is the other technique!

I planted 4 of these bushes nearly 2 years ago in a flower bed in front of the house which is facing north. They have only grown nearly 1 to 1&1/2 foot, the leaves they do produce die or there may be only a few on the bushes. Any suggestions you may have would do much appreciated.

Rose of Sharon flowers wilt shortly after blooming, we have a lot of buds but all flower's wilt within a couple of day's. We had a very WET May and now temp's in the 90's. Last yr flowers were plentiful and had no problem. I cut back some this winter, leave's look ok had some Japanese Beatle start on leaves but sprayed with Permethrin and they are gone?
You could try a fertilizer high in phosphorus( the P in NPK). This article may help as hibiscus is the perennial version of Rose of Sharon

I bought a Blue Chiffon Rose of Sharon Live Shrub (4.5 in. Qt.) from Home Depot. I planted it immediately following the instructions provided. This was back on June the 5th. The shrub does not look distressed but it has not grown at all (it is still juts about 12'' tall and it is 15 days later). It has a couple of buds that appear to get ready to bloom at some point. Should I worry about it? How long does it take to grow even just a little? I bought another rose of sharon two years ago and I seem to remember that it grew fast. Thank you
A couple of weeks is not that long for a newly planted shrub. It is likely spending it's energy establishing a root structure.
