Picked potatoes and took out pink eye affected ones. Within a day or so, normal potatoes starting showing signs of the disease. They had been hardened off and were about to be put in burlap sacks. Do we have to get rid of all of them now? Seem to affect the larger sized potatoes.
This is caused by a lack of oxygen, too much moisture, and high temperatures around your tubers. If this is slight damage, then you can still use them. If this has led to bacterial issues, then you will have two discard them. This page from the University of Wisconsin will offer more information:

Hello this is Chris from niagara ontario my question is planting seeds cleaned from the berries of a potato plants I\'ve been reading about planting potatoes in the fall to 8\"deep to get a jump start on next year\'s gardening, can you do the same with seeds harvested from the berries or do they have to be started indoors ?? never tried from seed before always from potatoes that have sprouted in the cellar thanks for any info

Will it grow well in containers in South Carolina?
Pacific russet is an early maturing variety, so that would put it in the determinate group. (Indeterminate are the late season varieties.)
