Hi, we've had a beautiful hedge of Natal Plum bushes for almost 30 years and are sadly loosing it slowly to what seems like disease on the bark. The infected bark looks like wart-like bumps on it. It seems to be contagious as it started in one clump and is gradually moving up the hedge to all the remaining bushes. Parts of the infected bush are thriving and blooming so it's confusing as to how we should address it. Unfortunately it's not going away, just affecting more bushes! Thanks for listening! Deb
This looks like Black Knot disease.

Plum tree branch broken off? Can we plant the broken branch?
Alex, plums are very difficult if not impossible to propagate from cuttings. You need to graft it to propagate it. Fortunately plums are one of the easier fruits to graft.

Leaves are sticky with some sort of secretion. There appear to be small green aphids on the leaves. Fruit has brown marks and some is deformed.
This is called Honeydew and it is the secretion from pests.
Neem Oil is a good treatment.

The cause may be a weevil named plum curculio.

I have a young prunus mume tree that had somewhat curling leaves when I brought it from the nursery. It is worsening and now almost all of the leaves are curling and some developed discoloring on one lateral side then died. I clipped the dead leaves and ends and found that some of the inner core of the clippings were discolored brown. Some facts: I watered it and kept it in its 1-gallon container 1 week then planted it in a 2" hole with compost, planting soil and existing soil, well watered with the root flare at soil level in full sun. The 3' basin around it had been spaded. Strangely, the leaves around the inner part of the tree seem to be curling first and most. Any advice? I live in Southern California and the tree is a cultivar called Prunus Mume Miyazono. Thank you!
Indeed, it does not look healthy.
It could be stressed, as you mention you bought it in this condition.
You can't rule out a fungus or pest issue, as prunus trees are susceptible to some diseases.
I would suggest taking some leaf samples into your County Extension Office for diagnosis.

I have pictures of some of the plums from our tree that have an oval brown pocket on the bottom that is part of the skin line. It penetrates to the pit ending a 2mm slit mark at the pit, found by dissecting the fruit. No other abberations were observed in the fruit or skin and the issue is consistent in size and location on the plums found. What is it? Is it a failure at initial growth to close off the skin at the bottom that compensates with this patch?
I believe this is just a skin blemish and not any disease or pest issue.
