I would like some tips on growing pineapple organically: soil conditions, full sun or shade, fertilizing options, etc. Thanks!
The first, and most important, thing will be the climate. This plant will not tolerate cool temperatures. As for nutrients- These are not picky. The trick is to make sure that you never use the nutrients at high concentration. It should be properly diluted. I have used cheap granular fertilizers, and Really expensive, top of the line liquid pharmaceutical grade nutrients. They respond well either way. These are full sun plants, and do like a little sand in the soil. This is not fully necessary but will help.

Hi! I`m following the directions on how to plant pineapple tops.. One question it does not mention if you should trim the the top of any leaves that have dried or might break while waiting for it to root... Should I or should`nt I do so.. Thank`s Dan
You can strip away a few of the lower leaves to expose about 1 inch of the base of the crown.
The remaining leaves should be left intact.
Front sides of leaves have yellow-reddish-brown spots. In frist stadium these spots are white. On the other hand some leaves on their back side have brown strips. How to stop them forming?
This appears to be Rust Fungus.

I now have three healthy pineapple plants and love them. As the plants get older the long leaves, esp. the bottom leaves, bend and hang down over the pot. the leaves appear to be dead as they discolor. I did try cutting one leaf and I thought I would need a saw as they are really tough. What is the best way to handle the lower leaves?
This is common on the Pineapple plants, as new leaves grow, the lower leaves will brown.
You can use a sterile knife to remove the lower leaves as they turn brown. Make sure you do not injure the stem.
I saw this Beautiful Flowering Pine Apple Plant and wanted to know where i could get one?
