It is difficult to say what the cause was of the fruit drop.
Make sure the soil is well draining.

Pineapple plants can fruit a total of three times during their lifetime before you must replace the plant, although not all plants are capable of producing multiple fruit and some plants may fruit more. Indoor potted plants are more likely to produce only one or two fruits in their lifetime because they do not always receive the optimum conditions necessary for thorough fruiting. Each flower stalk produced by a plant has the capability of setting fruit. The first fruit typically grows largest, with subsequent smaller fruits produced later.

The flower of the pineapple will not usually grow roots. The only thing that has a chance would be the leafy top. Cut this, and propagate it as you would the top of any pineapple. This article will help: https://www.gardeningknowhow.com/special/children/planting-pineapple-tops.htm

If you want to prune your plant to keep it shapely or small, the safest time is one to two months after the harvesting season, typically in late summer.

If it has stopped growing then the pineapple is ready to harvest. Most plants you buy from the store, there fruit doesn't grow to the size of the large ones. It could also be a different type and the fruit will be small.

This can be common when moving a plant indoors. Water will not evaporate near as fast indoors, so you will have to make sure to only water after the top 2 inches or so of soil is almost completely dry.

It is worth noting that the flower will not form into fruit and finish under normal indoor light. You will have to provide 100 or 200 watts, at least, of horticultural lighting for it to grow properly. Also, if you desire a full sized fruit, you will need a very large container. 8 gallons should yield close to a standard size fruit.

To address the issue at hand... The next time that you water, just replace one fourth of that water with peroxide. Only do this once, and only after the soil has dried a bit.
