I purchased a peach tree that is about 8' tall. I would like to create scaffolding shape with three or four limbs starting at about three feet but the base of the tree is about 2" diameter and where I want to cut the trunk off the diameter is 1 1/2" in diameter. I will be cutting the top 5' of the tree off won't that kill the tree?
This kind of pruning will want to be done when the tree is a little younger. That is a lot of tree to be cutting off at one time. I would have to suggest cutting much less than that off, then tying the larger growth down until it retains that shape.

HELP!!!! My peach and nectarine trees are 5 years old this year. To date we have yet to have a successful crop due to one disease or pest or another. First couple of years it was the Chinese or Japanese moth. Next couple of years it was black rot. This year I spent countless hours researching sprays and nutrients, watering cycles, what mulches to apply, what not, etc. Thought God had really blessed us this year and was loving what I was seeing. Until I went out this morning to find what you see here. I cut one open and there were brown tracks and tunnels through the weeping peach. Please, is there anything I can do or do I just need to cut them down and start over?
There are a few culprits that can be the cause of the oozing.

The fruits turn brown and fall off.
A few deficiencies come to mind, but it could be a fungal issue. If you can get a picture, this would help me to get a better idea of what is going on. In the meantime, this article will help: https://www.gardeningknowhow.com/edible/fruits/peach/peach-tree-fruit-drop.htm
Hi my name is Rose When I first moved in I had this tree. I’m not sure what it is but I think it’s a peach or nectarine. Not sure how you can tell the difference. I had somebody come and clear out the weeds one day and they completely cut this tree down to nothing. I thought it was gone but then a couple years ago it popped up. I have never pruned it which I guess is a problem from what I’ve read. But anyways for the last five years I’ve lived here it’s always had a lot of beautiful blooms in spring but never any fruit. I’m wondering if it needs another tree to cross pollinate or what I should do so I can get fruit from this tree. I’ve lived here 5 years and when I moved in it was already here so I assume it’s older than 5 years. Also I live in riverside ca.
There can be a few reasons for lack of flowers or fruit.

The small young leaves of my peach tree are turning yellow. I have applied copper to stop the leaf curl I had. The leaf curl has been cleared.
Yellowing leaves can indicate watering issues; too much or too little.
If it has had Leaf Curl it can also be vulnerable to pests and other diseases.
