Q.Will my peach or nectarine tree eventually fruit

Zone Riverside 92508 | Roseacosta added on April 17, 2019 | Answered

Hi my name is Rose
When I first moved in I had this tree. I’m not sure what it is but I think it’s a peach or nectarine. Not sure how you can tell the difference.
I had somebody come and clear out the weeds one day and they completely cut this tree down to nothing. I thought it was gone but then a couple years ago it popped up. I have never pruned it which I guess is a problem from what I’ve read. But anyways for the last five years I’ve lived here it’s always had a lot of beautiful blooms in spring but never any fruit. I’m wondering if it needs another tree to cross pollinate or what I should do so I can get fruit from this tree. I’ve lived here 5 years and when I moved in it was already here so I assume it’s older than 5 years. Also I live in riverside ca.
