How long after planting an Anacacho orchid tree should you wait to prune it? We planted the tree in October 2014. How soon can we trim up the thin lower branches to begin shaping it?
The best time to prune an anacacho orchid tree is soon after it blooms in spring\early summer.

Why is my Anacacho Orchid Tree growing leaves only on the ends of the branches? My Orchid Tree was planted as a small seedling, and is growing nicely, including the upper branches. It's grown about 2' in the year and a half since it was planted. This spring the young tree has grown several new branches; each branch has several "nodes" along its length. However, leaves are growing only on the ends of the branches, no more than 6" from the tip. Is this possibly due to overwatering, or do I just need to prune the branches to encourage them to fill in?
How long are your branches? A part of me wonders if this is just the normal growth pattern of an anacacho orchid tree. For your reference - here is an example of a young anacacho orchid tree with leaves clustered near the ends of the branches:

Our tree died back this summer due to our abundant rainy days, followed by harsh heat for prolonged periods of time. My tree has been in the ground for 8 yrs. and is a mature growth of about 12 ft. tall. I'm in the process of cutting back the tips of the tree. I've scratched the trunk and it is still very green. Will my tree come back out this fall or will it wait until next spring? Should I fertilize and, if so, with what? We live about 40 min. from the Gulf Coast.
The tree will probably start growing back soon after you trim it this fall. Anacacho Orchid Tree is a nitrogen-fixing plant (meaning it has bacteria in its roots that help it obtain nitrogen from the air), and it does not typically need fertilizer.
I was given seeds for an orchid tree in December from a lady in Galveston Tx. A seaside town in south Texas. I live in the Dallas Tx. Area. After planting the seeds the next spring The little round flat seeds began to grow. Yippee. I planted them in a large planter on the patio. It gets sun for about 6 hrs. Planted in good rich potting soil. It has been 5 years and no blooms yet. Although it has nice green leaves there is no sign of buds. Is it possible that I am missing a key element or maybe I live too far from the coast. I am so wanting flowers. Any suggestions?
This fast growing tree should be blooming.
Check the growing conditions with the articles below.
Increased sunlight and a bit more water could help your tree.

My orchid plant probably has over 100 air roots. Are they necessary? May I remove them?
Yes, they are part of the Orchids root system.
You can remove them if they are damaged or not healthy.
This article will help you.

My Hong Kong Orchid tree is about 8 feet tall. I'm not sure how old it is, although I planted it about 3 years ago. It has always bloomed, but didn't this year. How can I improve blooming?
If this is not fertilized at least once per year, then I would likely point this to be the problem. It would not hurt to fertilize this with a slow release all purpose fertilizer at least once per year.

Can this tree be grown indoors with a lot of light. Windows and doors 3 sides of room. 15 ft. ceiling
A Bauhinia could possibly grow indoors with conditions that you describe, although I've never seen it. I seriously doubt that it would flower well.
