does anyone have a source for these wonderful multiplier onions?
I am sorry. We do not recommend specific places for purchase, or sourcing. I would try your local nurseries, farmer's markets, or online sources.
We have waited till the end of April before planting we put sets in pots of compost we have also used a nematodes drench all to no avail. Its not only us other frieand have told us they are having the same problem

3 years ago I had small white insects in the stalks of my onions and garlic. The stalks turned brown. The onions were ok for awhile , didn’t store well The base became soft. I blamed straw maybe having mites. Now 3 years later I am still having the same problem. I don’t see any insects. I have covered with protective cloth.
They need to be hardened off before storing. These articles should help:

Also I want to know the kind of land and soil for the onion planting
These articles should help. You should wait till the rainy season is passed or you can use raised beds. They will rot in too much water. If you are planting an acreage, you may want to visit with an agricultural entity.
