I have a Mexican Lime bush. I noticed this past week that 2 out of the 20+ limes have cracked. What has caused this? Note: We have been experiencing avg 105 deg F heat index the past couple weeks. I have been watering almost daily.
Here is an article that will tell you why citrus fruit rinds crack:

Happy gardening!
I live in the desert. Last November I planted a Mexican lime, a Eureka lemon and a Washington Sweet Navel orange. I have an automatic watering system and am watering in the summer for 45 minutes every other day. The soil is quite loamy and it takes a while for the water to seep in to the ground. The orange tree has two oranges (still green) but looking good, the lemon has one lemon (still green). The lime has been growing tall but has no fruit and no blossoms. Should I fertilize? Am I watering too often? Thank you for your help. Linda
I am listed several articles to help you with the care needed for each of your new citrus trees.
Adding 2 to 3 inches of hardwood mulch can help with moisture retention.
Your tree looks healthy and happy!

The tree I have is in a pot with nice green leaves, but no flowers or fruit for the past 2 years. What could be the problem? I live in San Diego and tree gets sun 10 to 12 hours a day.
Here are some articles that will help you get your lime tree blooming.

I grow the tree in a large container. During the winter all the leaves fell off even tho it was covered. New growth is coming at the bottom. Should I cut the branches back to that point? Thank You
Spring is a good time to prune, prior to blooming. Certainly prune any dead branches from the tree.

Hello my name is priscilla romero and I've been having my key lime tree in a container I'll insert a photo and my problem is I don't want to plant it in the ground because I'm a renter and move every 5 to 7 years. My limes flower and start grow I get so so many flowers but they don't stay on and if you shake my tree they will all fall off it's so fragile however I've gotten two limes the first year and nothing the next 3 years untill now I've gotten one and I hope it stays!!! What can I do to make my limes stay on? What can I feed it or is my problem that it's in a pot? The theee is about 3 - 4 feet tall.
They can survive quite easily in container. I would recommend a few things. Use dolomitic lime, and iron sulfate at least once per year... Twice is better. And feed with a citrus fertilizer at least once per year. This will keep it healthy and fruiting. It is also helpful to have as much light as possible. If this does not get outside time in full sun, then you will need to provide at least 200 watts of horticultural light for it to be able to bear fruit.
i dug up my mexican lime which i thought was dead but i decided to put in pot just in case. all the limbs were dead . about a month ago there actually was some green that sprouted. i am pretty sure it is above graft because they are actually above the lowest little branch. how do i know for sure? i sent two pics to let you see. is it worth while for me to keep trying in this mexican lime. it has not been good since the beginning. just sayin. lol and could you guide me towards any of these sprouts i should prune to make it ok. looks like there is 4. should i keep them all or what ? thanks for any help.
I honestly can't tell from the images if it's above or below the graft line. I think you answered your own question, 'it has not been good since the beginning'. I would seek out a new tree.

just i got a mexican lime tree that nobady was taking care, most of the leaves are falling, i started to watering inmediatly. my question is: its gonna survive? it was a christmas gift.
If this is in container, and indoors... then this is common. Even in the brightest window in a house, there will not be enough to keep it happy. There are a few things you should keep handy. Dolomitic lime, iron sulfate, and citrus fertilizer. These should be applied once or twice per year. A 200 watt horticultural fixture will be enough light for a small tree.
