I have as a gift a lemon tree with two lovely lemons on it, but on the label it says: "this is an ornamental lemon tree. Do not eat the fruit!" Why is this?
The Lemon Tree has likely been treated with chemicals from the growers and this label is placed on the trees for the safety of the consumer.
Many people remove these Lemons and dispose of, then any new lemons can be safely eaten.

All leaves are turning yellow. It has plenty of flowers and lemons. We also have it connected to a drip system. Can you please give some advice? My husband tells me that it's getting too much water.
Yellowing leaves can indicate a watering issue; too much or too little.

Why has my lemon tree stopped flowering and developed leaf curl? My tree is probably 15 years old and has been an excellent bearer of fruit until this year. It has full sun for most of the day and I water it regularly. Usually it has fruit of various sizes and flowers on at the same time. It does and has almost always had a high weed growth around its base. The leaf curl is worrying, as it is even on what little new growth there is showing.
Citrus leaf curl can be caused by environmental issues or most likely insects.

I have had a Lemon Tree for 15 years and in that time no fruit. I was considering having it taken out. Talked about it with my gardener, stopped watering the tree now, after a couple of months it is flowering, why is that?
Water is vital to citrus tree health.
Water stress can be seen in fruit reduction, leaves turn a dull green and will curl inwards. Continued water stress and the leaves will began to dry and die.
Leaves will fall first, followed by any fruit.
Here is the surprise. Citrus will bloom about 1 month after being drought stressed.
It's important to continue to water your tree if you want it to continue to grow.

I have my very first, and only flower, on my indoor Lemon Tree. Can I use it to transfer pollen and transfer it from the another to the stigma? I had a Grapefruit tree for about 15yrs that I started with a few seeds of one I ate. It finally got too big to carry in and outside each winter and summer and I no longer have it. It never flowered but that was ok. I did the same with some lemon seeds in 2007 and voila! It has one flower on it! I'm very excited.
Congratulations on the success!

We have a house in Spain. When we were there in Oct last year, the tree had some lemons on it. We used what we wanted and left some on the tree when we left. Now we have come back and the lemons that were originally on the tree are still on the tree plus a lot more. They are very big and a lot of pith. Do I need to take this fruit off before new fruit grows? There are some flowers but not many.
Remove the over ripe fruit from the tree.
