Beetles have eaten up my squash vines (trying to grow in large containers) - had some flowers but only one fruit - now gone. Have used several types of spray - too many to pick off by hand. Long cucumber vines (also in large container) have looked very healthy and have lots of blossoms - now covered in ants!! At wits' end!! What can I do?
Neem oil is the most effective pesticide and is safe to use on all types of plants, including edible ones. Your cucumbers are likely affected by aphids, which secrete sweet honeydew. This is what attracts the ants, so really getting rid of the aphids will in turn get rid of the ants as well. Neem oil, again, will help with this. Do fall webworms cause sufficient damage to trees to make killing them necessary? I know they damage the part where the nest is but are they a real problem? They are on an apple tree. Are the insecticides safe for fruit? The tree needs to be cut back anyway, so if we cut off the damaged part will it be fine?
Small nests don't seem to do any significant damage but trees that are covered in them may suffer from defoliation. This article might help: https://www.gardeningknowhow.com/plant-problems/pests/insects/controlling-fall-webworms.htm
Looking for an animal safe remedy for a heavy infestation two shrubs. What is Insecticidal Soap and is it non-toxic? Thanks in anticipation of an eradication reply.
Insecticidal soaps have several advantages over pesticides in that they leave no nasty residue, are natural and, therefore, non-toxic to animals and birds and do not harm beneficial insects.

I bought Triple Action Neem Oil for insects on my plants but I lost the instructions on the amount of oil and the amount of water to spray on the plants.
The ratio amount for neem oil listed on the label instructions is normally one ounce of neem oil per one gallon of water.
I just found a fuzzy yellow caterpillar in my garden about 1 and a half inches long. What is it? It was crawling up my brick house wall towards a vinyl window that needs some new caulking. (Right from my flower garden.)
Do you have a photo? - it would help aid in our identification. Here is one possibility, however - does it look like this:

If so, it is a Spotted Apatelodes moth caterpillar (Apatelodes torrefacta)
I want to spray my plants for woolly aphids, but it says not to spray on hot sunny days. I live in Alabama and right now we are having a hot summer. Can I spray after the sun goes down, or will it create the same problem the next day when the sun comes back up? Otherwise, it will be October before I can spray and I just discovered my plant is covered from head to toe! (it is on the side of my house and I only see the top branches through the window, so I had no idea. I also have boring bugs in my Japanese maple...suggestions? Thank you.
Early morning is a good time, usually the coolest part of the day.

Something is eating the new blooms when they first start growing? I find the brand new blooms eaten off clean. All of them.
Difficult to determine from your description.
I would advise a Neem Oil treatment, as this works as both an insecticide and fungicide.
