Why don't my honeysuckle plants have any flowers? They are in full sun and look really healthy but alas no flowers! Why?
The nutrient content of the soil may be off - too much nitrogen and not enough phosphorus. Feed it some high phosphorus fertilizer or add bone meal to the soil to encourage blooming. Here is more information: https://www.gardeningknowhow.com/garden-how-to/soil-fertilizers/phosphorus-plant-growth.htm
Thanks I will try that - all my other flowers are lovely though. Ill get some phosphorous fertiliser and bonemeal.
Thanks, Esther
My cape honeysuckle has brown leaves (on the tips and edges). Some of the leaves have fallen off around the bottom of the bush and just the little leaf branches are left. It still produces orange trumpet flowers, but it looks pathetic. A friend told me I needed iron. Is this correct?
Friends offer well meaning advice. If your friend has performed a soil and/or leaf testing, I would withhold action until testing is done and results with recommendations are reported back to you. The following article has a lot of information you should find helpful: http://homeguides.sfgate.com/brown-leaves-cape-honeysuckle-36430.html
I have lots of black spots (eggs?) on my honeysuckle. What should I do to get rid of them, and what are they?
Aphids commonly affect these plants and this is most likely the pest you are seeing. Neem oil is an effective treatment for these pests and quite safe to use, so there's no threat to other plants, beneficial bugs, pets, or even humans. I have two honeysuckles, one pinkish and cream and one yellow and white, both opposite sides of garden. They tend to start to have leaf fall once watered and fed. Trimmed at end of season. Both plants seem healthy. Have had them in for many years with same problem each year. The ones down the garden are fine. Any ideas?
It could be either a fungus or pests. I would treat the plants with neem oil. It treats both fungus and pests. Here is more information on it: https://www.gardeningknowhow.com/problems/pests/neem-oil-uses.htm
The flowers of my honeysuckle vine are covered with small black bugs of some sort. What are they and what should I do to get rid of them?

The bugs sound like they might be thrips. Whatever they are, you should be able to control them by using one of these methods: https://www.gardeningknowhow.com/special/organic/natural-home-pesticides-organic-garden-pest-control.htm
I had once seen a variety of a honeysuckle and the owner said the fragrance was noticeable only at night. Do you know what variety that would be?
The perception of honeysuckle scent is rather a personal thing. Many people report that the scent of honeysuckle is most noticeable at night, without regard to variety of plant. However, because night flying pollinators are most attracted by white and yellow blooms, honeysuckle with those color flowers may be more likely to have stronger night time scent. Here's an article that refers to common varieties: https://www.gardeningknowhow.com/ornamental/vines/honeysuckle/types-of-honeysuckle-plants.htm
