Your article says there's insecticides that will kill leaf miners, but doesn't name any. I'm unable to find any - which can you recommend? Thanks in anticipation, Best regards, Alan Harvey
We do not endorse specific brands. When you purchase an insecticide, read the label to make sure it can be used on the specific plant and states that is kills leaf miners.
We do however recommend Neem Oil as an insecticide and fungicide in the garden.
Neem Oil is organic and is safe for people, pets and Bee's.

I have a totally container-based garden. The pots are placed on about 1" of gravel. A couple of weeks ago, I found that two of my plants (small dahlias) had mites, at which time I started spraying all the plants with neem oil. But a few days ago, I was rearranging some plants, and I noticed small slugs (babies?) on the bottom of several pots, and the ground underneath those pots. However, I have not seen any damage from slugs on the leaves. I have read many 'cures' for slugs, including diatomaceous earth (which I would have to re-apply every day after watering - it's normally 95-102 dry heat here in the summer, which is why I water most of my plants every day), cocoa bean shells, beer or melon-rind traps, and putting the pots on legs. I'd like to know what you recommend, considering that I have a container garden. Thanks Melissa Moore

Applications of Bt or pesticides will greatly depend on the plant material and the issue that your plants are suffering from.

Dianthus adorable is being attacked by something. It looks like snail trails but the buds are being eaten and the leaves show signs of also being eaten. Buds fall off when touched. Any ideas as to what the problem is? 3 photos attached showing the plant, a bud still attached and some removed buds.
We did not receive the images.
It may be Leaf Miner damage.

Dianthus Adorables. What is attacking this plant?
Without a description or image, I'm not able to help identify a pest or disease.
If you can give more information and images, we would be glad to help!
Something is eating my flowers and plant leaves. It eats everything.
Any number of pests, both insects and wildlife can feed on garden plants. In the event of insect pests, you can treat plants with neem oil or insecticidal soap. Installing fencing can help with wildlife critters. How do you kill bagworms naturally? No pesticides. My bushes are loaded and to hand pick will take a long time. I need help!
Many people let nature take it's coarse and allow the birds to eat the worms.
