I planted 6 cucumber plants in April. It is now June. The plants are blooming but no cucumbers are setting. When will I began to see some cucumbers? I live in the city so I don't have many bees so I have tried self pollinating with a very small artist brush touching from bloom to bloom.
If your pollination efforts were successful, you should see fruit appear within a few days. Keep trying, being a bee is not easy. Here's some more information on hand pollinating: https://www.gardeningknowhow.com/edible/vegetables/cucumber/hand-pollinating-cucumbers.htm
Last year my cucumbers were bitter. I tried peeling them "thicker", picking them smaller, everything I could think of but it did not matter. I assumed it was from the heat or drown. This year the growing season has been perfect. Plenty of rain and no excessive temperatures so far. I picked the first cucumber yesterday, thinking it would be perfect. It was only about 4-5 inches long and an inch or so in diameter. Bitter as gall. Can the pH of the soil affect it?
This is a fairly common problem. Most researchers find that stress is the cause of it all, rather than soil chemistry. I thought this article had some good advice: http://www.hort.purdue.edu/ext/bittercukes.html
They are wreaking havoc and eating my leaves. They are killing my plants. What should I do?
I have oodles this year, too, zone 9, Bay Area. This article is somewhat helpful: https://www.gardeningknowhow.com/edible/vegetables/cucumber/cucumber-beetle-control.htm
I also garden with a bucket of warm, soapy water nearby. Shake flower heads right over the bucket and you will be surprised what falls out. Soapy water kills them.
Maybe diatomaceous earth? but it might kill your beneficial insects, too. This might help you decide if you should use it: http://www.richsoil.com/diatomaceous-earth.jsp
Cucumber beetles are destroying my cucumber plants. Have tried 2 organic sprays, sevin rotenone and now malathion. All with little success. HELP, PLEASE!!
This article should be of some help: https://www.gardeningknowhow.com/edible/vegetables/cucumber/cucumber-beetle-control.htm
Have had problem with cucumber wilt in past. Planted an acorn squash which has suddenly wilted and dying leaves. Does this mean cucumbers are next?
There's a good chance of it. Here are a couple of article that give you more information on cucumber wilt. https://www.gardeningknowhow.com/edible/vegetables/squash/signs-and-treatments-of-squash-wilt.htm

Acorn squash infected borer beetle (saw red eggs). Cukes planted next to squash. Sprayed with Bayer insecticide. What else to prevent spread?
With some insects, it's hard to achieve control after the infestation has started. You can spray with one of these home made remedies, if you choose: https://www.gardeningknowhow.com/special/organic/natural-home-pesticides-organic-garden-pest-control.htm
Here's a couple of articles about insects you might find on your squash and cucumbers: https://www.gardeningknowhow.com/edible/vegetables/cucumber/cucumber-beetle-control.htm

I have two raised planting plots that are filled with top brand potting soil. I have an automatic watering system to spray once each morning. For the 3 plants in each plot, I lightly spray well water each morning about sunrise. The plants are blooming a lot and have a lot of small cukes, but when they start to fill out, they are shaped like golf balls.
There's more than one possible cause, so you'll have to be a bit of a detective, and an experimenter also. Here's information on the most likely causes: https://www.gardeningknowhow.com/edible/vegetables/cucumber/deformed-cucumbers.htm
