Regarding the article on growing lemon cucumbers, could you comment on their appearance when ready for harvest?
You can harvest lemon cucumbers when they are light green with just a hint of lemon.

My cucumber plants look like it may have to be the end of their life for this year. I think too much sun has caused it to go weak and yellow. See image. Is there anyway I can revive these plants? Many thanks
You may have leaf spot going on. Here is info on that disease as well as others:

Cuke plants producing lots of flowers but no cukes. Many bees and hummingbirds in the area as well as lots of pollinators very close to the plants such as squash, sunflowers, morning glories, tomatoes and peppers. Rick
I would check your soils for excess potassium, as well as low phosphorus levels. It sounds like it may be something along those lines. Be careful to watch the pH as well. Try to keep it from neutral to slightly acidic. Really, though, a good soil with quite a bit of compost should be plenty. Try to incorporate wood ashes and keep an eye on pH.

HeatherRhoades wrote an article saying squash and cucumbers cannot and do not cross pollinate. False! My mother-in-law planted the two next to each other unintentionally. All of the sudden the cross breed vegetable was there evident by photo below. We will be glad to go to the garden, take photos, videos in addition to this photo I am sending. It is not a wives tale. It is not a myth. It is true and we don\'t know how or why it is able to happen but it did and dies so the mystery or legend is true.
This is what happens when you allow cucumbers to go overripe.
